Dear
Friends,
Ann
and I were blessed with our first grandchild in November,
Alia Genevieve Murphy, daughter of Maggie and Ryan Murphy.
She is truly a blessing and a great addition to our family!
The 2007 Tour de Foothills was a great success with over
600 riders. My training and work on refining the route
netted me my best cycling year ever surpassing the 5,000
mile barrier. I will back off some in 2008 but still will
keep physical fitness a priority with a balance of riding,
yoga, going to LA Fitness, walking our dogs and an occasional
game of golf.
New
Years 2008 happened and then this year is going by very
quickly. The good news is we have already had twice as
much rain as last year. We are not out of the drought
yet so it is very important to conserve water. There are
several tips, rebates and grants available on the City
of Upland website.
The
city has many things coming up. Please check out the events
section of this website and don't forget the 2nd Avenue
Market sponsored by Main Street Upland which is opening
again at daylight savings. Go on down for arts and crafts,
live entertainment, fresh produce, food vendors, and kids
activities. For more information call 949-4499
Please
sign our guest book - take a moment to tell us what you
think. We would like any input from you, the citizens
of Upland. Please e-mail me at tom@tomthomas.org, or call
me at (909) 946-8739.
The
City of Upland, our City of Gracious Living, is a wonderful
home ... a city with a small-town feel. Ann and I have
been here for 25 years and still find it to be the very
best place to live, find entertainment and shop. Especially
now with The
Colonies Crossroads shopping center with L. A. Fitness,
Home Depot, Target, Kohl’s, and Albertson's! Historic
Downtown Upland is a favorite place to go for numerous
events. The
Grove Theatre (a live theatre venue), Upland Feed
and Fuel, Las Cazuelitas, Caffé Allegro, Molly's
Souper, the Sideboard, Davis Goldmark Jewelry, Purvis
Design and the Second Avenue Market each Thursday draw
us there often.
Keep
watching here as different issues come up.
Sincerely,
Tom
